How each one of our pieces are made?
For over thirty years, Cohen Diamond has been producing its fine jewelry in the heart of Midtown Manhattan, a block away from Rockefeller Center. By doing so we not only supervise the creation of each of our pieces, we also keep the integrity of having everything manufactured in the United States.
So with that in mind, let's pull back the veil and get a glimpse of the artisans and their craftsmanship.
Concept Design
More often than not the initial concept and design arises from the client. We spend time and resources ensuring that the concept in mind is appropriately executed to prolong beauty and comfort.
Typically we use photos and ideas presented to us and that kernel of knowledge, along with CAD programming, to offer a 3D rendering for approval.
CAD computer designing allows for adjustments along with fine-tuning for our client's approval before we go to the next step, model making.
Polishing
Polishers use buff wheels with different levels of abrasive compounds to get minor scratches off of surfaces.
Uniquely shaped wheels allow for different surface contours.
Stone Setting
Stone setters spend years apprenticing and then honing their craft. The very best fine-tune their trade to their unique, signature style.
Finished Piece
Once the piece is completed, it is then either presented in our showroom or shipped to the client much to everyone’s delight.
